Program Duration:
The Work & Travel Program offers qualified students the opportunity to take paid work in the USA for the period of up to four months during summer university break.  The program may not be extended beyond 4 months.
Exact program dates for each student are indicated on Form DS-2019 and may vary somewhat from one participant to the next depending on when the student is available and when their job offer begins.

Students are allowed to work for a period as long as 4 months. Beyond this, they may remain in the U.S. for a “grace period” up to 30 days longer for visiting and/or travel. Students may not work during the 30 day grace period, however. And, they are no longer program participants during this period. Students who remain in the US beyond their program and end date, or arrive in the U.S. prior to the program start date, as specified on Form DS-2019 are responsible for their own accident and health insurance.
